Valerie Dent

I trained at Mountview Theatre School and have worked professionally in theatre as an actress, theatre director, teacher and workshop facilitator for 22 years.

My work as an actress and theatre director includes West End, repertory theatre, national and small-scale touring theatre and London fringe. I have worked as a teacher and workshop facilitator for over 10 years in performing arts schools, FE colleges, schools and theatre in education, corporate companies, and have a BA(Hons) and Cert. Ed.

My ongoing acting career compliments my work as an acting coach/teacher/workshop facilitator.  I am always learning as an actress and can therefore pass my experience onto others. 

I am presently studying the method acting Meisner technique at the Meisner Temple and other voice/acting workshops that appeal.  In 2010 I took an interesting voice workshop run by voice coach Marj McDaid, she teaches Jo Estills voicecraft (how to change the tones of the voice), and shamanic inspired exercises by Siberian teacher Nelly Dougar-Zhabon.
